Do you accept credit cards for payment? Yes, we can do that via paypal.
I'm interested in your services, can I meet with you and further discuss my pet's needs before booking? Of course. Our first consultation should take place at your home where your pets and I can meet. We can discuss any questions you have and go through the New Customer Packet and forms. This gives a chance for your pets to meet me where they're comfortable. We may suggest a "trial" walk that day to become familiar with your pets' habits on the leash and with a new person in their home.
Can I purchase 10 walks at one time and then call you when we need you? Yes, we can provide you with a voucher of 10, 20 or 30 walks which you pay for at the consultation or first visit. We will mark each of the walks on your ticket to help you keep track of the number of visits and when it might be time to renew your voucher.
Do I have to give you a copy of my house key for walks and pet sitting? Yes, in order to be able to access your home for walks or while you’re away, a copy of your key is required. While keys are in the possession of a Purrs and Paws Pet Services, they will be either on the Sitter’s physical person, or be properly stored in an undisclosed location. By default, keys are not returned unless otherwise specified. If you wish us to leave your keys behind on the last visit or at the end of a walk, please leave instructions as to where to leave the key and how to secure the home once we leave. Keys can be mailed to you for a fee of $5.00.
If it’s raining or cold, will you still walk my dog? Yes, of course. We will attend to your pet(s) during stormy, rainy or cold days unless otherwise notified by phone. For short notice cancellations due to weather, please contact us by phone as soon as possible.
Will it cost extra for you to feed my fish while you’re at my home taking care of my cats? No, that’s not a problem at all. There is no extra charge for feeding fish. If a larger job is requested that takes up a measurable amount of time (over 10 minutes) we will have to charge an additional visit fee of $10 per 15 minutes extra. Feeding other furry or scaly creatures does not take up a lot of time away from your other pets and our duties at your home, so we would gladly do that for you.
What takes place during our first consultation and how long will it take? In most cases, our first meeting will be between 15 minutes to an hour depending on the types and number of pets. We will discuss routines, habits and traits as well as household duties you require. A Veterinary Release Agreement and Legal Considerations will be reviewed and signed, and we'll take down all necessary information regarding you and your pets, as well as emergency contacts. During this time, we will spend some time getting to know your pets. There is no obligation to schedule service during this consulation. We understand that some pet parents like to have the Pet Sitter visit with the pets before considering us for service.
I've got a lot of plants outside and my garden needs watering. Would you be able to water my flowers and garden while we're away? We sure can. Please note that if you have requested a 15 minute visit for your cats / dog, but the time required to water plants, garden, etc. will be more than the time allotted, there is a $10 charge for every 15 minutes extra. We tend to and provide care for your pets before the additional duties to ensure your pets receive the full benefit of our visits.
Can you stay over night in my home? At this time we are not providing that service.
