Who are we?
People for Animals of Saskatchewan Inc.
(P.F.A.) is a local, non-profit, volunteer-run
animal welfare organization which works to
assist companion animals in need and to
educate people about the humane treatment
of pets and other animals.
In addition to conducting animal rescue and
rehabilitation operations – we have received
cats found by caring citizens, rescued some
that have wandered onto farms, and
humanely trapped strays living under abandoned houses and businesses – we provide them with necessary veterinary care such as spay/neuter, identification, vaccinations etc.
We rehabilitate these animals in order to
prepare them to be adopted into loving
homes, giving these souls a second chance.
We trap, neuter/spay, and release feral cats
back into colonies followed by long term care
and feeding.
Finally, we feel strongly that education is the
key to success in addressing the severe plight
of overpopulation. Using ads in local newspapers, posters, flyers, and delivering presentations, we educate the public on the importance of spaying & neutering, identification (tattoo, chip), responsible pet care, and the benefits of well-maintained feral cat colonies.
Our Mission:
To promote compassionate and humane
treatment of all animals through public
education, maintenance of feral cat colonies,
and rescue, sterilization, care and adoption
of homeless cats and kittens.
Goal #1
To educate our province-wide membership
and the public on issues of compassionate
care, sterilization, and health maintenance
for companion and other animals.
Goal #2
To provide long-term care including humane
trapping, sterilization, feeding, and shelter
for several feral cat colonies in Regina.
Goal #3
To rescue, sterilize, provide foster care and
place abandoned and homeless companion
animals into screened, approved homes.
This is a cause that I wholeheartedly believe in. I have recently become a rescue volunteer and look forward to contributing to this group of amazing and dedicated people. If you are able to donate any thing at all, being a non-profit organization, the group could really use the help. At this time they do not have a functioning office with phones and email addresses and are in the process of making a website so you can mail any donations to the address below.
